If you want a visual representation of the wind at your flysite,
Why not make one of these?
I found these plans on the net.
Originaly for a drogue to stabilise a lifting kite.
Simply cut out the 4 panels as described above.
Sew them together, adding a loop of metal
(I found a wire coat hanger to be very useful)
to the leading edge.
Hem the trailing edge.
Add 4 towstrings and a longer single line to attach to a pole or the trailing edge of your kite.
The longer windsock in the top picture was extended up from the wide edge of the plans to make the Windsock 32" long.
Simple to make and very visual.
